Age 18-25, fun loving, good-time girl, flirtatious, and plays gullible well, even though at times she needs to make the audience wonder whether her gullibility is serving to meet her needs. Must have excellent comic timing and wonderful stage presence

Age 25-40, strong actor, disturbed, troubled man with a powerful, brooding presence; Jud should have the ability to make the audience shift uncomfortably in their seats. Hired hand on Laurey’s farm.

Ali Hakim
Secondary lead,– 40% stage time
Age 25-30, character actor-singer, a travelling peddler. Ali needs to have a silver tongue and look like slightly greasy. Has a manufactured charm that allows him to talk his way out of anything, must create accent as Persian peddler.

Curly
Baritone (low C to high F) - sings 7 songs – 70% stage time
Age 20-30 Cowboy in love with Laurey. Oozing confidence and charisma, Curly must have eyes that sparkle and a smile that lights up the room. Curly needs to have a cheeky charm. I am looking for an actor that has the ability to balance this light hearted Curly with an inner strength and resilience.

Age 18-25, Farm girl that loves Curly. Spunky & headstrong and looks just as comfortable chopping wood as she does in makeup and a dress. Must have some depth and subtlety in her acting.

Age 20-30, Young cowboy who loves Ado Annie. Whilst Annie’s gullibility could at times be perceived as an act, Will is nothing but sincere and wears his heart on his sleeve. Will should have the ability to light up the stage with his movement.
